testbp.org’s ”mention this user” is broken right now:

Del posted a new activity comment: %s You really are a hater, aren’t you? He answered your question, told you and everybody else what it’s about, and still you’re dishing out insults and going so far as to insinuate he’s a hacker. I’m starting to think the only possible reason behind this absurd behaviour (aside from downright childishness) is jealousy. So Mike came up with a good idea that will benefit the buddypress community and he’s doing a good job of marketing it – what is there not to approve of? If you don’t want to see the images he’s posting, block them; problem solved. There’s no need to inflict your petulant vitriol on us.

Michael Pratt posted a new activity comment: %s Not a hater at all. Please enlighten me and show where he answered it? I am all for even paying for plugins but I can’t find anywhere he has described what it is, hence the characterization. I will look again.

PS Nice use of ”petulant vitriol” :-)

Del posted a new activity comment: %s Thank you – it was deserving :P

In two places on Mike’s original thread that Brent and yourself commented on (http://testbp.org/activity/p/64961/), he says:

”I have the guinnea pig question on there, because I’d really like to produce themes that speak to the vast majority. The only way I can do that is by getting a focus group together, or ”guinnea pigs,” who’ll suggest improvements to whatever I come up with.”

”been thinking lately as to how i’ll roll out B2, since i don’t want this theme pack to own me, ha!”

Having also seen the first few images MIke posted and finding myself intrigued and wondering, I PM’d Mike and asked him what B2 was all about. He responded and kindly told me that he’s putting together, as said above, a theme pack. Now if you’d only thought to ask him yourself instead of getting irate at his method of marketing, you would doubtlessly have received the same answer, would therefore not have needed to flame him on his own product, and we’d all be none the wiser that you’re name is rather fitting :P

Michael Pratt posted a new activity comment: %s Del – Just read every single posting Mike wrote. While he def has a nice sense of humor and seems to be an excellent sense of marketing as well, he only mentioned (alluded to really) what BuddyPack is. It seems to be a theme, but according to him, it’s different but we’ll have to see. There is zero info on his site about the nature of it. So you could, perhaps, understand that his toying with everyone here and vaguenesss has some of us more passionate BP devs slightly annoyed. To each his own, but I don’t like seeing the naive among us trapped. Yes, this may be a clever ad campaign but it so devoid of info that you’re better of treating it as spam.

Not convinced? Read all the questions he gets and responses from genuine folks asking benign questions. Still no response from Mike. So he either likes messing with us to continue the campaign o it’s spam.

PS How do you know that he came up with a good idea that will benefit the community? You’ve seen behind the Photoshop?

Del posted a new activity comment: %s Because I messaged him and asked. I would have thought that was the sensible approach – if you want to know something, ask a direct question. I don’t imagine anyone would have signed up to something if they felt uncomfortable with not knowing what it was, but for those who did want to know, I would like to think that they had the sense to message Mike and ask him, if they were intrigued enough by his images to bother finding out. And as I’ve said previously, if people were getting fed up of seeing his images, they could simply block them and carry on, no harm done and certainly no need for throwing your toys out of the pram.
