@micheal Re: http://bit.ly/r7JR3o – Existing bbPress vs new bbPress install – pick a new one.
That tutorial is only relevant for really old bbPress standalone setups that people might want to integrate into their existing bbPress setups.
I’m replying through here because bp.org is a little hard to communicate at the moment.

Can someone make a plugin that can import events from Facebook? (see: http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/api/event and see: http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/api/user)
Maybe integrate it into the upcoming EventPress plugin?

As mentioned by John, the Private Messages for Followers plugin is now installed on this site.
Basically what this plugin does is mimic Twitter’s Direct Message functionality. Users can only private message those who are following them.
eg. I can only message these people.
Test it out and please post any issues you encounter!

One thing I’ve noticed is the autocomplete compose screen doesn’t work with the BuddyPress Followers plugin.
I’ve got this working locally and will add this functionality for the next release of the plugin.

@charliejgraves, @octavio – If you want to use your existing WP theme with BuddyPress, you can!
You’ll have to use the BP Template Pack plugin though. You’ll also have to probably tweak the CSS a bit to make everything match up.
