Is it possible to disallow blogs and group creation for normal users (5 posts)

    Newbie here.

    There is simply too much happening in BuddyPress. I like the cool features but am worried it will confuse our users. Is it possible to:

    - disallow blogs for all users
    - disallow group creation for all users
    - only admin can create groups
    - users can join a group and then use normal functions

    I hope I’m not asking too much if I ask if these things would work in connection with role management? I have only two people on my test install and I have not had a chance to play with this.

    I’m trying to restrict group creation on BP 1.2 with WP 2.9.2 normal version (not MU) but so far not successful. Apparently Simon Wheatley’s plugin doesn’t work with normal WP. I’d tried it on a different installation and it was great.

    Can anyone help?
